PaltalkScene

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

PaltalkScene is a unique chat software which has video, audio and text chatting unified into one window. It’s a strong chatware program that includes many features.
With parental control feature you would be able to change settings or block groups; adult content is hidden by default and all rooms are moderated. Add in the rooms ratings G, R, and A and you are ready for safe chatting. You can define the amount of personal information given by right-clicking, which also
contains private room invite and file sending options. All sessions can be saved and printed, and buddy lists from other chat accounts can be automatically imported. Latest updates include screening rooms to share online vids, music feeds from Rhapsody and multiplayer games in case you get bored talking.
However, the abundance of pop-up ads, which strike even while you’re in the middle of joining a room, might motivate users to pay for a subscription or look elsewhere. Free accounts only can open Webcams for a few seconds, while paid users can open multiple video windows. The app crashed for us when closing, and the system slowdowns were disappointing. Uninstalling Paltalk left an icon on the desktop.
Still, the thousands of rooms for politics, karaoke, tech advice, and porn mean that anybody can find a connection on Paltalk.

Live chat review

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Live Chat allows you to not only improve customer/client sales and communication but also get on with work if you are a small business rather than having to constantly monitor your website/sites.
Here’s some of the chat features:
* Clear, easy to use interface - when first viewing the interface you will find it pleasant on the eye, uncluttered and easy to find any options and setting you require.
* Help files - a help files link is easily viewable in the top interface bar which opens an extensive knowledge base of required information. If you can’t find an answer to a pressing question, live help is available 24/7 from the company itself which can be accessed through the interface.
* Automatic customer invitation - many live help programs have what’s called a “proactive chat” feature however many have to be pushed to the customer while on site manually rather than automatically. Live chat allows you to set up an “automatic push invite” after x amount minutes. When the customer enters text into the customer chat window, the operator is alerted by a sound. This enables the operator to get on with other work and not be disturbed until a customer require information.
* Faq - an extensive faq section can be uploaded so that the operator can show the customer this information while answering other customers inquiries.
* Push - a push feature is also available so that the operator can give or show examples of site and other materials online that may be pertinent to the sale.
* Logging - comprehensive logging of visits by the customer, ip address, referred site statistics and previous chat sessions is available.
* Freezing - Unlike many other programs which had a nasty habit of constantly freezing while in usage, live chat had none of these issues. Lastly, one of the features about the service was the overall customer service. From the time of initial introduction to post sales, the customer service was extremely good.
It is rare to hear from a company once you have purchased (especially online products) however live chat made the effort to contact me through the chat system every now and again just to make sure all was going well.

Chat history

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Word chat means informal, casual conversation. This term is now associated mostly with online chat services, video chat conferences and computer programs. It’s much more handy than posting through emails or forums, because you don’t need to wait for the reply from your friend, associate, or
anybody else.
Today you can find lots of variuos types of chatrooms on the internet. They are separated depending on its programming language. One of the first ever appeared was the Internet Relay Chat (IRC). It was
written by Jarkko Oikarinen in 1988. While started in Finland it has been used in over sixty countries around the world. It was conceived as a replacement for the “talk” program. In IRC people gather together on so-called “channels” (a virtual place, usually with a topic or conversation) to talk in groups, or privately. Since the moment of its creation IRC is constantly evolving.
In recent years another chat language is raising in popularity. Its a Java programming language which is utilized to create applications that allow many users to connect in the same environment (chat session). This programming language became so popular because it is much more stable and customizable than the older Internet Relay Chat systems.
The newest technology is developed from Flash language. Flash allow even more satbility and customization than Java chats and it’s more secure than Java chat rooms.
The latest add-on to users chat sessions are the uses of video chat applications. This allows users to use regular text based chat, but also add a webcam to allow for live feed of the person who they are interacting with. This allows for a more pleasent chat experience.
There are many other ways besides chat programs to communicate with other individuals over your computer. The most popular are Instant Messaging systems. They allow users to create a contact list and be able to connect directly through their Instant Messaging application to the individual they
are talking to. (the other user must have the same application installed). Some examples of the most popular ones include MSN Messenger, Google Talk and AIM (AOL Instant Messaging).
Most chat rooms on the Internet are provided for free. There are some exceptions, however. Some charge a monthly or per usage fee.
